Why Join Our Club?

Learning Through Dialogue

Our aim: respectful conversations that help you judge ideas and issues for yourself.

Discussions,
not debates

Have enjoyable and productive conversations—not debates—so everyone can come to his or her own reasoned conclusions!

Enlightening Conversations

Explore classic texts as a group that have extraordinary relevance to modern life.

This is a free program offered via the online conference platform, Zoom. We are currently offering sessions on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM Central Time (US).

A Powerful Shared Collaborative Inquiry Discussion Method

Our seminars aren’t typical. We follow a special set of principles and considerations to create the most conducive environment for an enjoyable, productive discussion —not a debate— in which we reason together about the material so each person can come to his or her own conclusion.

Each session is completely independent of the others (although you can make some great connections between them), so if you can’t make it every time, that’s fine! These are designed for you to be able to participate in one or all of the sessions at your convenience.

Lots of Opportunities to Delve into Diverse Content

We’re reading independent selections of 10 pages or less and diving into foundational questions to come to a better understanding of the text as a group.

Some past selections have included:

  • Damasio, DeCartes’ Error, A Modern Phineas Gage
  • Voltaire, The Only Case In Which Intolerance Is Humanely Lawful
  • Csikszentmihalyi, On The Conditions Of Flow
  • Rand, The Objectivist Ethics
  • Kipling, If
  • Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols, The Problem of Socrates
  • and more
